It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I announce the establishment of the Office of International Affairs at Kerala Kalamandalam. This milestone marks a significant step in our journey towards fostering a global cultural exchange and reinforcing our commitment to preserving and promoting the rich artistic heritage of Kerala.
Kerala Kalamandalam has always been a beacon of excellence in the field of classical performing arts, nurturing generations of artists who have carried forward our traditions with great distinction. With the introduction of the Office of International Affairs, we are now poised to extend our reach beyond national boundaries, inviting students and scholars from around the world to experience and contribute to our vibrant cultural legacy.
The new Office of International Affairs will facilitate a diverse range of programs, including the Study in Kerala (SiK@Kalamandalam) initiative, which offers international students the opportunity to immerse themselves in our unique training systems and transfer credits to their home institutions. This initiative not only broadens the horizons of our own students but also enriches the global understanding of Indian performing arts and intercultural theatre, including the latest trends in Social Science and modern theatre, which are integral to higher education in the current global scenario.
We are honored to have had the patronage and visits from renowned theatre makers and scholars such as Eugenio Barba, Jerzy Grotowski, Peter Brook, and many others who have recognized the value of our traditional practices in their intercultural explorations. The establishment of this office will further strengthen such collaborations and foster new ones, making Kerala Kalamandalam a hub of cultural dialogue and artistic innovation.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported us in this endeavor. Your dedication and vision have been instrumental in making this dream a reality.
